How would you like to have several gorgeous area beaches near your new home? There are many beaches speckled all along the western coast of Pinellas County, but here are a few of our favorites.
In Dunedin, FL, you will find both Honeymoon Island State Park and Caladesi Island. Caladesi Island is a short ferry ride away from Honeymoon Island and offers great swimming, picnicking, nature walks and more. Enjoy the pristine white sand beaches that have been awarded The Best Beach nationally. As you drive out along the Dunedin Causeway on your way out to these beaches, you’ll also find some great ways to enjoy the sand and water in and around St. Joseph Sound.
There are places along the causeway to pull off and relax, and you can rent kayaks and enjoy other water sports like jet skiing, canoeing, wind surfing and more in this area.
More sugar sand beaches and lots of fun awaits you if you choose to visit Clearwater Beach, our largest beach in the area and generally the most crowded. There is a nice playground located centrally on the beach and the famous Pier 60 where fishing and often vendors selling various crafts in the evenings. There are also many live music options in the area, and wonderful places to stay, including the beautiful Sandpearl Resort and the new Opal Sands resort, which opened in February 2016.
There are numerous other lovely beaches in Pinellas County, FL- too numerous to mention. Choose one, and treat yourself to a relaxing sun-soaked day!
